Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on November 10, 2025, addressing issues ranging from government shutdowns to honoring military families.

In her first post of the day, Scholten wrote: "Reminder: Republicans had a choice. They could have grounded billionaire jets, but they chose to ground the American people instead." (November 10, 2025).

Later that afternoon, she reiterated her legislative priorities by stating: "My priorities remain the same as always — protecting affordable health care and re-opening the government." (November 10, 2025).

In a third message posted that evening, Scholten acknowledged Military Family Appreciation Month and paid tribute to Captain Miguel Justin Nava and his family: "November is Military Family Appreciation Month, and I’m thinking of the Nava family during this reflective time. After Captain Miguel Justin Nava tragically passed in a helicopter training accident, his family has been working tirelessly to cement his legacy in our West Michigan" (November 10, 2025).

Hillary Scholten has represented Michigan's 3rd District since replacing Peter Meijer in Congress in 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and continues to reside there. Scholten holds a BA from Gordon College and earned her JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
