City Offers Third Annual Free Dog Swim at Richmond Park Pool

WHAT: The City’s Parks and Recreation Department will close the 2019 pool season with the third annual Wag ‘n’ Wade Dog Swim. The free event is open to all community members and up to two of their dogs.

DETAILS: The event will feature four 45-minute sessions of open swim starting at noon. Small dogs (less than 35 pounds) swim from noon to 12:45 p.m., large dogs (more than 35 pounds) from 1 to 1:45 p.m. or 2 to 2:45 p.m. and older dogs (ages 8 and older) from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Each session can accommodate up to 175 dogs. Registration is required and available HERE.

Dog owners may enter the zero-depth area to their knees with their pets. The Parks and Recreation plans to provide tennis balls, water and waste cleanup bags. Owners need to bring paper proof of vaccinations and a leash to walk their pets in and out of the pool area. Local vendors will provide giveaways, information and additional activities.
