GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN — U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Mark Totten announced today that Andrew Blair Howard, 63, of Sparta and Frankfort, Michigan, was sentenced to 60 months’ probation and ordered to pay $22,472.22 in restitution to the National Park Service and U.S. Coast Guard. Additionally, he must cover $3,947.71 in court-related costs. U.S. Magistrate Judge Ray Kent also banned Mr. Howard from all National Park Service properties as a term of his probation.

U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, Mark Totten, announced today that Anthony Martell Sanders, 30, of Grand Rapids, has been sentenced to 300 months in prison. Sanders is the last of four defendants convicted in a drug trafficking conspiracy that distributed fentanyl and methamphetamine throughout the Grand Rapids area.
Ferris State University men's golf standout McCoy Biagioli, from White Lake, secured one of Michigan's most prestigious golf honors on Friday, June 21. Biagioli won the 113th annual Michigan Amateur Championship presented by Carl's Golfland on The Heather Course at The Highlands at Harbor Springs. This victory grants him an automatic exemption into the 2024 U.S. Amateur, scheduled for August 12-18 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.

Eric Lilleboe, a Ferris State University men's golf alumnus, has secured his second Michigan Open Championship. Lilleboe clinched the 107-year-old state title at Oakland University's Katke-Cousins Golf Course with a six-under-par total, finishing four shots ahead of his competitors. A group of talented high school senior athletes from the Grand Rapids area is set to compete in the annual John Bos Baseball and Softball All-Star Games. The event, which supports scholarships at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC), will take place on June 18. GRCC and Davenport University are hosting the games in collaboration with athletic equipment supplier Game One.
