Ferris State University's 42nd annual Football Golf Outing, scheduled for this Saturday (June 22) at Clear Lake Golf Club near Big Rapids, has officially sold out. The event is expected to draw one of the largest turnouts in its history.

The four-person shotgun scramble, sponsored by the FSU Gridiron Club in conjunction with the Bulldog Athletic Association (BAA), is a primary fundraising event for the Ferris State football program. This marks the 11th consecutive year that the outing will be held at Clear Lake.

The day's activities will commence with registration and lunch starting at 10:30 a.m. (ET), followed by a rules meeting and a shotgun start at noon. Post-golf events include a cocktail hour and dinner at approximately 6 p.m., with door prizes, an auction, raffle, and awards to follow. A social gathering is planned later in the evening at Buffalo Wild Wings in Big Rapids.

While participation slots are filled, sponsorship opportunities remain available for those wishing to support the Bulldogs. Contributions from this event directly benefit the Ferris State football program.

For inquiries regarding this year's golf outing, individuals can contact Football Golf Outing Chair Bill Scheible at 231-796-7135 or 231-349-6440, or Cedric Frierson at 231-679-9852 or via email at CedricFrierson@ferris.edu.

Ferris State's football team will begin its 115th season of varsity competition this fall aiming for a tenth consecutive NCAA Division II Playoff appearance. The Bulldogs have achieved five national semifinal appearances and three trips to the national championship game within recent years, including back-to-back national titles in 2021 and 2022.

In Lindy's Sports Division II Football Preseason National Rankings for 2024, Ferris State was ranked fourth nationally. Over the past three seasons, they hold a record of 36-4 overall and have reached nine consecutive NCAA Division II Playoffs. Additionally, they have made five national semifinal appearances in seven seasons and maintain an impressive record of success under head coach Tony Annese since his arrival in 2012.

The Bulldogs' season opener is on August 31 against Pittsburg State with their home opener set for September 7 versus Lake Erie at Top Taggart Field.
