On April 7, 2025, Scholten expressed her enthusiasm about hosting "dozens of West Michiganders" for spring break in Washington. She noted that their trip could be more costly than anticipated. Scholten indicated her eagerness to "hear directly from West Michiganders" as she continues to advocate for sensible economic policies aimed at reducing expenses. "I’m thrilled to host dozens of West Michiganders for spring break in Washington this week, but their trip could be even more expensive than anticipated.
