Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has highlighted recent legislative and community developments through a series of posts on her official social media account.

On September 4, 2025, Scholten addressed federal emergency management policy by stating, "While the president is suspending FEMA employees, my @TransportDems colleagues and I are getting work done to keep Michiganders safe. This week, we passed the bipartisan Fixing Emergency Management for Americans Act out of committee, the most meaningful reform to @fema in".

Later that day, she focused on local healthcare initiatives: "Community health centers are crucial to the health and well-being of our neighbors, especially those without access to comprehensive health care. It’s exciting to see new CHCs open in West Michigan — a true testament to our investment in community."

On September 5, 2025, Scholten discussed infrastructure efforts related to local commerce: "Dredging our harbors, rivers, and lakes keeps our ports and shipping routes clear, allowing the flow of commerce to run smoothly. It’s crucial for the Grand Haven Inner Harbor in my district, which generates $88.8 million in economic impact and supports hundreds of jobs."

Hillary Scholten has represented Michigan's 3rd District since 2023 after succeeding Peter Meijer. She was born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and continues to reside there. Scholten holds a BA from Gordon College (2004) and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (2011).
