Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on community initiatives and ongoing advocacy efforts through a series of social media posts this week.
On September 3, 2025, Scholten highlighted the expansion of a key community institution, stating, "For decades, the Krause Memorial Library has been a cornerstone of the Rockford community, and this week, we broke ground on its long-awaited expansion! Thanks to everyone at the library for their commitment to serving our community through education, programming, and increased".
A day later, on September 4, Scholten addressed her continued work regarding justice for victims of Jeffrey Epstein. She wrote, "As we continue to advocate for the victims and survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's crimes, we must do everything in our power to bring closure and justice to these individuals. I was proud to sign a bipartisan discharge petition to force GOP leadership’s hand and bring forward a vote".
Later that same day, Scholten emphasized the importance of centering survivors in public discussions about Epstein’s crimes. She posted: "Through all the chaos and conversation surrounding the Epstein files, we must remember the most important individuals: the victims and survivors. I was able to meet with a few of the brave women who survived the atrocities and are fiercely advocating for justice for other".
Hillary Scholten began representing Michigan’s 3rd district in Congress after replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. Born in Grand Rapids in 1982, Scholten is 41 years old and continues to reside in her hometown. She earned her BA from Gordon College in 2004 and received her JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011.
