On January 31, 2025, Scholten expressed criticism towards the House GOP in a tweet stating: "Make no mistake: @HouseGOP spent the past few days at Trump’s golf resort in Florida to finalize a plan to punish hardworking American taxpayers while providing huge new tax breaks for billionaire donors. I’m keeping my eyes wide open and will never stop fighting for MI-03."

Later that day, she highlighted West Michigan's role in aerospace innovation.
