Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on her engagement with healthcare innovation and policy in West Michigan through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On August 26, 2025, Scholten expressed appreciation for local medical leaders, stating, "Thanks to the leaders at @UofMHealthWest for their commitment to innovation and top-of-the-line care. I was able to observe their histotripsy treatment devices — the first of their kind in West Michigan — which are precise, non-invasive options to treat liver cancer and improve". The message highlighted advancements in liver cancer treatment available in the region.

Later that day, Scholten emphasized the importance of collaboration in her legislative work: "Representing you in Congress isn’t a job I can do alone, West Michigan. My Health Care Advisory Board is crucial in informing my legislative decisions about health care policy, and it was great to meet with members of the advisory board today to discuss the work that lies ahead" (August 26, 2025).

In another post from August 26, she invited constituents to participate in an online event: "Join us for the webinar tonight at 6 pm! ".

Scholten has served as U.S. Representative for Michigan’s 3rd District since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. She was born and resides in Grand Rapids and holds degrees from Gordon College and the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her ongoing efforts reflect both her roots in West Michigan and her focus on advancing healthcare initiatives locally.
