Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on community events in West Michigan through her social media posts.

On August 5, 2025, Scholten highlighted National Night Out in West Michigan by encouraging residents to participate: "Tonight is National Night Out, West Michigan! Check out the link below for local #NationalNightOut events where you can get to know our law enforcement officers and work to foster a safer community for all."

Later that evening, she marked the conclusion of a regional tradition: "Another incredible Coast Guard Festival is coming to an end in Coast Guard City, USA. I’m already counting down the days until the next one! ️" The Coast Guard Festival is an annual event held in Grand Haven, known as "Coast Guard City, USA," celebrating the contributions of the United States Coast Guard.

The following day, on August 6, Scholten recapped her participation in National Night Out activities: "Team Scholten had a great time with the West Michigan community and local law enforcement officials at last night’s #NationalNightOut!"

Scholten has served as the representative for Michigan’s 3rd District since 2023 after succeeding Peter Meijer. She was born and currently resides in Grand Rapids and holds degrees from Gordon College and the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
