Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of updates on July 29, 2025, addressing topics ranging from honoring military service to national infrastructure and environmental conservation.

In her first post of the day, Scholten commemorated a local hero: "ICYMI: Captain Miguel Justin Nava paid the ultimate price in service of our country, and his legacy will never be forgotten. It was an honor to stand with West Michiganders at the renaming ceremony for the Captain Miguel Justin Nava Post Office in Comstock Park. It is my hope" (July 29, 2025).

Later that afternoon, Scholten addressed ongoing concerns about air traffic controller staffing shortages. She wrote: "Our air traffic controller staffing shortage is reaching a breaking point, and as a @TransportDems member, I'm doing everything I can to change this. We must do more to support our ATCs and ensure that their training and workplace environment encourage retention and longevity in" (July 29, 2025).

In her final tweet of the day, Scholten recognized World Nature Conservation Day by urging continued efforts toward environmental protection: "This World Nature Conservation Day, let’s continue our work to protect our natural environment and conserve the precious natural resources we have. #WorldNatureConservationDay https://t.co/BfWJt8wpZh" (July 29, 2025).

Scholten has represented Michigan's 3rd District since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. Born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and currently residing there, she holds degrees from Gordon College and the University of Maryland School of Law.
