Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on social media regarding her legislative activities and participation in a charity event.

On July 18, 2025, Scholten posted about a Congressional softball game supporting cancer survivors: "Playing for a great cause was good enough, but a Team Congress WIN topped the night off! Another fun-filled @CWSoftballGame for @YoungSurvival in the books! https://t.co/3PAwdD4T5V".

Later that day, she commented on her vote against a House bill: "I voted no on HR 4016 because this bill hands Trump even MORE unchecked power. I will not and cannot support that. https://t.co/A5DflHx0D2" (July 18, 2025).

In another post from July 18, Scholten criticized Republican actions affecting public broadcasting funding: "Our work should be laser-focused on lowering costs at the grocery store and gas station, not defunding Sesame Street. In the dead of the night, Republicans voted to rip funding away from public media outlets like @WGVUPublicMedia, a cornerstone of West Michigan’s local news."

Hillary Scholten has served as representative for Michigan's 3rd District since 2023 after succeeding Peter Meijer. She was born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and continues to reside there. Scholten holds a BA from Gordon College (2004) and earned her JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011.
