Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district since 2023, recently addressed several community and legislative issues through her social media platform. Scholten, a Grand Rapids native with a background in law, has been vocal about policies affecting her constituents.

On June 18, 2025, Scholten expressed concern over proposed cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). She stated that "Republican-led SNAP cuts would devastate affordable groceries and the facilities that provide them — like the Community Food Club in Grand Rapids." Scholten emphasized her commitment to collaborating with community members and congressional colleagues to oppose these reductions.

Later that day, she congratulated a local sports team on their achievement. In a post dated June 18, 2025, she wrote: "Congratulations to Grand Rapids Catholic Central girls soccer and their coach, Genevieve Sander, on their Division 3 MHSAA Finals title!" She noted the pride felt by the community for their accomplishments.

In another post from June 19, 2025, Scholten discussed hosting a roundtable with Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and leaders from the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children program. She highlighted concerns about federal funding cuts impacting CASA programs. Scholten remarked: "CASA programs are facing real and devastating federal funding cuts, which will directly impact kids in our communities."

Hillary Scholten continues to focus on child welfare and community support as key aspects of her legislative agenda.
