Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district, has taken to social media to address a range of issues. Scholten, who succeeded Peter Meijer in 2023, frequently uses her platform to discuss both national and local concerns.

On June 9, 2025, Scholten emphasized the importance of peaceful protest as a fundamental right in the United States. She stated on Twitter: "Peaceful protest is a fundamental right in this country, and we must ensure that right is protected and that protests remain peaceful."

Later that evening, Scholten expressed solidarity with her colleagues in condemning antisemitic attacks occurring in Colorado and Washington. Despite facing travel delays herself due to major flight disruptions, she remarked: "While major flight delays today have me still trying to get to Washington, I join with my colleagues tonight who are condemning the horrific antisemitic attacks in Colorado and Washington. Hate has no place in our communities and must be rooted out wherever it is found."

The following day on June 10, Scholten reflected on the progress made since the signing of the Equal Pay Act in 1963. She highlighted women's advancements across various sectors while advocating for continued efforts towards equality: "Since the Equal Pay Act was signed into law in 1963, women have made strides as working mothers, leaders of industry, and entrepreneurs. We must follow in the footsteps of the women before us who helped craft this important legislation by continuing to work toward a more equal"

Hillary Scholten was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1982. She graduated from Gordon College with a BA in 2004 and earned her JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011.
