Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district, recently shared several updates via social media. Scholten, who has been serving in Congress since 2023 after replacing Peter Meijer, often communicates with her constituents about local and national issues.

On June 7, 2025, Scholten celebrated National Fishing and Boating Week, highlighting the economic impact of recreational fishing in her district. "Did you know that recreational fishing in MI-03 provides $191 Million to our local economy and supports over 1,200 jobs?! It’s FIN-tastic!" she posted, urging West Michigan residents to stay safe on the water.

Later that day, Scholten announced efforts by Democrats to address governmental corruption. In a tweet at 8:18 PM UTC, she stated: "Democrats are standing together to End Corruption Now. My colleagues and I announced the introduction of a group of bills that would bring accountability to our government — no matter who’s in office." She also mentioned her specific contribution through the Integrity in Government Act aimed at protecting nonpartisan governance.

In another update on June 8, 2025, Scholten expressed enthusiasm for enhanced fan experiences at Detroit Lions games due to improvements facilitated by Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Her post read: "Now, you’ll be able to hear even more West Michigan fans roar at @Lions games thanks to @FlyGRFord!"

Hillary Scholten was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1982 and continues to reside there. She graduated from Gordon College with a BA in 2004 and earned a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011.
