Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan’s 3rd district since 2023, has expressed her views on recent Republican initiatives and activities within her constituency through a series of tweets. Her remarks have focused on health care policy and budget plans, as well as local engagements in Michigan.

On May 19, 2025, Scholten criticized Republican efforts to reduce health care coverage. She stated, "As Republicans try to gut health care from 13.7 million Americans in the dead of night, I’m going to keep fighting to protect the services you rely on to survive."

The following day, May 20, 2025, she further commented on what she termed the "Republican tax scam budget plan." According to Scholten's tweet, "The Republican tax scam budget plan cuts health care for millions of Americans, including children with disabilities, seniors, new moms, and veterans. They’re working for billionaire donors and wealthy corporations, not the American people they represent."

Additionally, Scholten highlighted a positive event occurring within her district. On May 20th she tweeted about hosting District Directors alongside Representative Hakeem Jeffries during a luncheon. She mentioned in her post that it was an opportunity to honor ongoing work in Michigan's third district: "District Directors are in the House this week! Glad to host Khristian at today’s luncheon with @RepJeffries to honor the work happening in #MI03 and around the country!"

Hillary Scholten was born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and still resides there today. She earned a BA from Gordon College and later obtained a JD from the University of Maryland.
