Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district since 2023, recently shared insights and updates on various community and legislative issues through a series of tweets. Her social media posts reflect her ongoing commitment to senior care, local business support, and the protection of essential welfare programs.

On May 13, 2025, Congresswoman Scholten expressed her appreciation for visiting the Harbor Terrace Senior Living Center in Muskegon. She highlighted the importance of protecting services like Medicaid that are crucial for seniors' healthcare. "Loved stopping by Harbor Terrace Senior Living Center in Muskegon to learn more about how they’re serving our neighbors in their golden years. We spoke about the urgent need to protect services like Medicaid, which millions of seniors nationwide rely on for their health care."

Later that day, she tweeted about a local event aimed at supporting small businesses. She encouraged participation in "Food Truck Fridays," emphasizing the enjoyable combination of delicious food and community support. "What a fun way to enjoy delicious food and support local businesses! Food Truck Fridays are back this week!"

On May 14, 2025, Scholten addressed broader national issues regarding social welfare programs. She criticized Republican efforts to cut funding for Medicaid and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), asserting these programs as vital lifelines for women and families across America. Scholten emphasized her stance alongside colleagues from the Democratic Women's Caucus against such measures. "Medicaid and SNAP are a lifeline for women and families. Our Republican colleagues want to gut these programs and leave millions of Americans without health care and food on their table — my @DemWomenCaucus colleagues and I won’t stand for it."

Hillary Scholten was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1982 and continues to reside there today. A graduate of Gordon College with a BA earned in 2004, she also holds a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore obtained in 2011.
