In a series of tweets, Congresswoman Hillary Scholten from Michigan’s 3rd district shared insights on manufacturing innovation, expressed concern over a violent incident, and highlighted advocacy efforts for Medicaid. Scholten, who succeeded Peter Meijer in 2023, represents West Michigan in the U.S. Congress.

On April 14, 2025, Scholten praised BENTELER as a leader in innovation and sustainability. She remarked on the company's positive impact on West Michigan's economy, as well as its global influence, describing her visit to the manufacturer as an honor.

Later that day, Scholten addressed a violent attack on Governor Shapiro's home, asserting that "violence and hate have no place in our democracy." She extended her condolences to Governor Shapiro and emphasized the need for a strong, united response to such incidents.

On April 15, 2025, Scholten affirmed her commitment to safeguarding Medicaid. She participated in a roundtable discussion with leaders like @LtGovGilchrist to strategize resistance against potential cuts to the program, which serves over 2.3 million residents in Michigan.

Hillary Scholten, 41, was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1982. She currently lives in Grand Rapids.
