On April 1, 2025, Scholten criticized Speaker Mike Johnson’s decision to cancel votes for the remainder of the week. She asserted, "Speaker Mike Johnson cancelled votes for the rest of the week rather than vote on a pro-family measure to support parents in Congress. House Republican leadership just showed us their true colors. That is not the so-called 'party of family values.'"
The following day, on April 2, 2025, Scholten shared her opinion on recent tariff announcements made by President Trump. She stated, "I support tariffs when they have an intention and purpose, and are specifically targeted to achieve those goals. But President Trump just announced a 10% across-the-board tariff on all imports, and a 25% tariff on cars coming into our country, for… no apparent reason. It’s"
On April 3, 2025, Scholten took to social media to mark a significant milestone for her hometown of Grand Rapids. She extended her greetings with, "Wishing a very Happy 175th Birthday to our very own Grand Rapids!"
