Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district, has shared insights and reflections following a recent town hall event in Grand Rapids. The event focused on direct communication with constituents and assessing issues pertinent to West Michigan.

On March 28, 2025, Scholten expressed her appreciation for the turnout, stating, "Thank you to everyone who participated in our town hall in Grand Rapids last night—it was a PACKED HOUSE! Hearing from you is absolutely crucial to doing my job well, and I was thrilled to meet you all in person to have a real, genuine conversation about the future of West."

Following up on March 29, 2025, Scholten reiterated the value of personal interaction with the community by noting, "Hearing directly from you at last night's town hall was so powerful, West Michigan. It was so important to me to meet with you face-to-face to hear your questions and stories, and I'm looking forward to many more in the future."

Additionally, on the same day, she addressed concerns regarding data privacy and governance, articulating, "I have been clear from day one: I’m all for efficiency. That is not the problem. The problem is the unelected, unappointed individuals who are running rampant through systems that contain our private, sensitive data." Scholten emphasized the necessity for accountability in managing taxpayer resources.
