Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district, has been vocal on several issues through her social media posts. Since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023, Scholten has focused on economic and legal matters that impact her constituents.
On March 10, 2025, Congresswoman Scholten expressed concern about the federal budget and its alignment with public interests. She stated, "This is not the budget of the American people. And we have been given no assurances that Musk will spend this money as Congress intends it."
The following day, March 11, 2025, Scholten addressed economic concerns voiced by her constituents alongside her colleagues from the Democratic Women's Caucus. She highlighted that the economy is a significant issue for women voters due to recent actions by former President Trump and Elon Musk. She noted, "My @DemWomenCaucus colleagues and I are hearing from our constituents: the top women’s issue is the economy. They’re scared and frustrated with the harmful chaos created by Trump and Musk and what it means for their groceries AND their 401k." She also mentioned an upcoming vote on a spending bill.
Later on March 11, she tweeted about legal accountability regarding DOGE (Dogecoin) cryptocurrency regulations. Referring to her proposed CLEAR Act legislation aimed at ensuring transparency within presidential administrations, she wrote, "The courts agree that DOGE must be held accountable. That's what I've been pushing for with my CLEAR Act."
