Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district since 2023, has shared her views on various issues through a series of tweets. Scholten, who succeeded Peter Meijer in Congress, was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and holds degrees from Gordon College and the University of Maryland.

On March 5, 2025, Scholten criticized President Trump for his focus on DOGE and Elon Musk over the American people. She stated that Trump's tenure has been marked by "raising costs," neglecting allies, and risking healthcare for millions. "As you just heard, DOGE and Elon Musk are extremely important to President Trump. Far less important, evidently, are the American people."

Later that day, Scholten expressed her unwavering support for Ukraine amidst tensions with Russia. She emphasized her solidarity by wearing a blue and yellow scarf during Trump's speech as a symbol of support for Ukraine's sovereignty. "No matter what the President says, I will ALWAYS stand with our democratic ally, Ukraine."

In another tweet posted on March 5th, Scholten mourned the passing of Representative Sylvester Turner. She praised Turner's leadership and dedication to public service in Houston while extending condolences to his family. "I'm heartbroken to hear of the passing of Rep. Sylvester Turner, a true leader and statesman."
