Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district since 2023, has recently addressed several key issues through her social media platform. Her statements highlight concerns about childcare funding, government transparency, and infrastructure improvements.

On February 6, 2025, Scholten expressed concern over the impact of a funding freeze by President Trump on childcare facilities nationwide. She emphasized the importance of reliable childcare for working parents and noted that this freeze puts facilities such as Head Start in Michigan's 3rd district at risk. She stated, "To have a strong workforce, our working parents need reliable childcare. President Trump’s recent funding freeze put the future of childcare facilities nationwide – including Head Start facilities in MI-03 – in limbo."

Later that day, Scholten announced her introduction of the CLEAR Act to enhance government transparency regarding tax dollar expenditures. She underscored the importance of public access to information about government spending. Her tweet read: "Knowledge is power, and in America, that power belongs to the people. Let’s CLEAR things up: Today, I’m introducing the CLEAR Act — Consistent Legal Expectations and Access to Records — to ensure that Americans know how every government agency is spending their tax dollars."

In another post on February 6, 2025, Scholten shared her engagement with officials from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). She highlighted their collaborative efforts to improve road safety and connectivity within her district and beyond. Scholten tweeted: "Always a pleasure to meet with @MichiganDOT officials, who are committed partners in improving our roads, increasing driver safety, and keeping our communities connected across MI-03 and beyond."
