Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district, recently shared a series of tweets on various topics concerning her constituents and national issues. Her messages included reminders for community participation, comments on international trade policies, and celebrations of local achievements.

On February 4, 2025, Congresswoman Scholten reminded her followers about the "Valentine for a Veteran" initiative. She encouraged sending valentines to veterans by Friday, February 7th to ensure timely delivery by Team Scholten on Valentine's Day. "REMINDER: There’s still time to mail in your Valentine for a Veteran! Team Scholten will be delivering them to local vets on Valentine’s Day, so mail them in by this Friday, February 7th to ensure we receive them in time!"

Later that day, she addressed the decision by President Trump to pause the 25% tariffs on Canada for 30 days. Expressing concern over potential economic instability due to these tariffs, she emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relations with Canada for West Michigan's economy. "While President Trump has decided to pause the disastrous 25% tariffs on Canada for 30 days, the threat and instability loom large. Relations with our neighbors to the North are crucial for West Michigan’s economy—I’ll push back at every step the President tries to disrupt them."

Additionally, Scholten congratulated Gerald R. Ford International Airport in West Michigan for surpassing their passenger record with four million travelers in 2024. She noted her visit to their celebration station en route to Washington D.C., commending their success and encouraging continued growth. "Congrats to West Michigan's own @FlyGRFord for breaking their passenger record of 4 million travelers in 2024! I had to stop by their celebration station today on my way to D.C.—keep soaring to new heights, GRR!"
