Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan's 3rd district, shared her thoughts on various topics through a series of tweets. The tweets reflect her personal interests and legislative priorities.
On February 3, 2025, Scholten emphasized the importance of outdoor activities for her family, writing: "Caring for our beautiful outdoors is so essential to me because it’s personal to me and my family! Jesse and I washed away the stress of the week with some hearty cross country skiing on the North Country Trail! Nothing like some fresh air & my to get ready for the week ahead!"
Later that day, she reflected on the significance of voting rights in America. Scholten noted: "It’s been 155 years since we ratified the 15th Amendment, where Black men were granted the right to vote. However, we know all too well that the fight for voting rights didn’t end there, and it’s our duty to continue expanding access to the ballot box for every American."
In another tweet from February 3, she highlighted environmental concerns related to a past incident in Ohio. She stated: "On this day in 2023, East Palestine, OH was devastated by a train derailment & subsequent chemical disaster. With their community still recovering from this tragedy, we must keep pushing for environmental regulations to prevent tragedies like this and keep our communities safe."
