Additionally, the City's yard waste drop-off site at 2001 Butterworth St. SW will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 15th, and will continue to operate throughout the winter, from Monday to Friday, for yard waste drop-off.

For those in need of City services, there is a convenient option for 24-hour access. The City offers a variety of services accessible online 365 days a year. To access these services, individuals can visit the City's website.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and his contributions to civil rights, the City of Grand Rapids will observe the holiday by closing its offices on January 15th. As Grand Rapids residents plan their day, it is important to keep in mind the closure of City offices and make any necessary arrangements ahead of time. The closure provides an opportunity for individuals to engage in activities that commemorate the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr.

The City of Grand Rapids hopes that residents will take this opportunity to reflect on the values and principles that Martin Luther King Jr. fought for, and to find ways to contribute to the ongoing pursuit of equality and justice in their community.

In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
