The ice-skating season at Rosa Parks Circle is delayed one week due to warmer weather expected this week. The rink is now slated to open Thursday, Nov. 30, weather permitting. The rink at 135 Monroe Center St. NW will be open daily, weather permitting, through February 25.Admission to the ice rink is $2 for those 17 years-old and younger and $4 for adults 18 and older. Skate rental is included with admission.Visitors can walk-up to skate or reserve skate times online. An individual can reserve a skate time for up to six household members. Reservations are free and skaters pay upon arrival. Skaters with reservations are advised to arrive within the first 10 minutes of their start time for a better chance that their skate size will be available.

Reservations for the first two weeks of the season can be made online here. Additional dates will become available up to two weeks in advance.

In addition to open skate, the rink will host events throughout the winter season, including the annual Christmas tree lighting on Dec. 1. The Parks and Recreation department also plans to once again host snowshoeing, fat tire biking and other winter recreation at Indian Trails Golf Course, as well as free sled rentals at city parks through its GR Outside division when weather permits.
