GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – City of Grand Rapids residents are invited to attend the City’s Third Ward Neighbor Engagement Session and City Commission Night Out (CNO) meeting Tuesday, Oct. 18. The Gerald R. Ford Academic Center, 851 Madison Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, will play host to this second of three engagement sessions sponsored by the City of Grand Rapids.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with City information tables from a variety of City departments and offices. Food and beverages will be provided. The official City Commission meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. with an organized facilitated discussion session followed by the business portion of the meeting at 7 p.m.
Free childcare during the Commission Night Out will be provided during the facilitated discussion session portion of the meeting. Childcare check-in begins at 5 p.m. Due to limited space, childcare is limited to the dependents of Grand Rapids residents who are attending the interactive discussion as an in-person attendee. City staff will use the quantitative results from the 2022 National Community Survey™ (NCS™) as the basis for conversations with Third Ward residents and other community members at the engagement session. Results of Grand Rapids’ NCS™ show that residents continue to believe Grand Rapids offers a favorable quality of life, but also highlight areas for improvement.

The business portions of the City Commission meeting will air on Comcast Channel 26 and be live streamed on the City of Grand Rapids Facebook page and YouTube channel.
The final resident engagement and Commission Night Out for 2022 will be held 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the Second Ward at GRPS University, 1400 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids.
