Upcoming Tree Maintenance

As recent storms have reminded us, proper tree maintenance is so important to maintaining reliable electricity to our area. Left unattended, trees that grow near electric lines can be dangerous and cause power outages. In fact, trees are involved in one-third of all outages.

To ensure the lights stay on in West Michigan, Consumers Energy has tree maintenance planned for part of Walker.

Later this summer, certified and trained foresters with Consumers Energy will be trimming trees or removing ones that pose a threat to overhead power lines. This work will mostly take place along the northern border of Walker where it meets Alpine Township.

Consumers has sent cards to those living in the work area.

For more information on what to expect, please see this informational brochure.
