Power Outages

5ab2658faf2be image

County of Kent issued the following announcement on Dec 12.

We are experiencing significant power outages throughout the County due to high winds.

If you encounter a down power line, stay at least 30 feet away and call 911 to report it. Be aware that the power line may have energized other things such as metal fences or vehicles if the line is in contact with them.

In some instances, our police and fire crews will be responding to an area for a down power line and using yellow caution tape to cordon off the hazard. If you see the yellow caution tape surrounding a down line, stay 30 feet away. However, you do not need to report this down line as crews have already responded and notified the power company to send a crew when available.
