CITY OF GRANDVILLE: Operational Changes In Response Re: COVID-19

Announcement

City of Grandville issued the following announcement on March 20 

In compliance with the guidance of federal, state and county health officials and in an effort to assist in the mitigation of the transmission of COVID-19, the following operational changes have been implemented in the City of Grandville:

City Hall:

No general public access to City Hall until further notice.

Staff will continue to report and be available to assist the public by mail,

phone, e-mail, website or facsimile during established business hours.

General email inquiries can be sent to connect@cityofgrandville.com

There are both drive-up and walk-up drop boxes at City Hall as well as

multiple ways to make remote or on-line payments of utility bills or

submit other paperwork. See options at www.cityofgrandville.com

City Clerk issuance of U.S. Passports has been suspended.

Please call if you need to make arrangements to transact business or

make an appointment with a City staff member.

Board and committee meetings have been suspended until further notice,

however, determinations are still being made as to the conduct of City Council meetings pending direction from the State of Michigan.

Police/Fire:

Public should continue to call 9-1-1 in an emergency. Certain non-

emergent calls/reports may be handled by phone rather than an in- person response.

Non-emergency phone numbers are:

Police 538-6110

Fire 530-6211

Police and Fire operations will continue while observing COVID-19 health

protocols of the State and other medical control authorities.

No general public access into the Police and Fire Departments until

further notice.

Fingerprinting service has been suspended until further notice.

Non-essential public contact such as station tours and public relations

events have been suspended until further notice.

Non-essential fire inspections have been suspended until further notice.

59th District Court:

59th District Court operations have been altered as stated in the attached

Court Media Release dated March 16, 2020.

Public Works Facility:

No general public access until further notice.

Public Works staff continues to work.

Senior Center/Library/Community Building:

Senior Neighbors, Inc. has discontinued Senior Center operations until further notice. www.seniorneighbors.org

KDL has closed the Grandville Branch Library on the same schedule as

public school closings. For more info on library services go to www.kdl.org

Existing rentals reservations of the Community Building have been cancelled and refunds will be issued. Call 531-3030.

City Events:

The March 28 Adult Easter Egg Hunt and April 24 Art & Chocolate Walk

have been cancelled. Refunds available to registered participants.

Outdoor Public Spaces:

City parks, cemetery and open spaces remain open to the public but

availability is subject to change pending further public health guidance. No outdoor assemblies > 50 persons. Practice good personal hygiene but use at your own risk as the City does not have the capability to sanitize these facilities.
