Grand Rapids Public Schools issued the following announcement on Jan. 27.
Attendance is important and counts every single day...But on Wednesday, February 12, it counts for a percentage of your school’s funding!
What is so important about Count Day?
A percentage of the state funding for our public schools is based on total student attendance on Wednesday, February 12.
GRPS had the best Count Day in two decades last year! We are poised to be one of the first urban districts in the state and nation to stabilize and grow! Please make sure your child is in school, on time on Wednesday, February 12 for a special Count Day no school uniform day!
How can you help?
Make sure your children are in school on Wednesday, February 12.
Spread the Word: E-mail, Facebook, Twitter, blog, and talk to all your family, friends, and neighbors encouraging 100% attendance every day — but particularly on Count Day.
How can you help?
Call the Action Line: If you see school-aged children out and about on Feb. 12, call our Action Line at 819-2500 or the hotline at 301-1111.
If your child is sick or unable to attend, please be sure to call the main office at your school to report an excused absence.
