City of Grandville issued the following announcement on Jan. 21.
We received one report that a resident received a call showing the caller ID 616-538-6110 (that’s us). The caller gave a name that is NOT any employee of our department and threaten the resident with arrest unless some payment was made, etc. If you actually have a warrant, an iTunes or other gift card isn’t the way to take care of it.
The scammers are upping their Game with caller ID spoofing. Stay vigilant.
