City of Grand Rapids offices and the Grand Rapids Public Library (GRPL) will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Ferris State University has announced the signing of five new recruits for its women's soccer program. These athletes will join the Bulldogs as freshmen in the fall of 2024. The new recruits include midfielder Morgan Elledge from Jackson Northwest, forward Ava Fuller from Fraser, midfielder Natalia Leavens from Northville, defender Ava Roy from Lake Fenton, and defender Anna Thelen from Forest Hills Central.
The ice-skating season at Rosa Parks Circle kicks off at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24. The rink at 135 Monroe Center St. NW will be open daily, weather permitting, through February 25.
