GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The City of Grand Rapids has recently announced its latest round of Neighborhood Match Fund (NMF) investments, totaling $75,509 to support 24 community projects. This fiscal year, the NMF has already supported a total of 52 projects with an investment of $165,309, promoting a deeper sense of community belonging among residents.
A team of City administrators and community leaders carefully reviewed all NMF applications for alignment with program objectives, emphasizing social justice and inclusion. The NMF committee engaged with project leads to ensure a shared understanding of project scope and contract requirements before final selections were made, focusing on strategies for inclusive project outreach and impact.
Brandon Davis, interim managing director of the Office of Oversight & Public Accountability & The Office of Equity & Engagement, expressed enthusiasm for the selected projects, stating, "These are exciting projects proposed by our neighbors that will enhance our community and the neighborhoods they serve."
The next round of NMF project submissions is scheduled to be accepted from June 1 to June 30, with projects expected to take place between September and February. Since its establishment in 2017, the Neighborhood Match Fund has awarded a total of $850,832, funding 260 community-led projects.
NMF contract awards for 2024 projects, led or co-led by Grand Rapids residents, have been distributed to various initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life in the city.
