City Holiday Office Closings and Delayed Refuse and Recycling Schedules

Most City of Grand Rapids offices in Michigan will be closed on Friday, December 22, and Monday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday. They will also be closed on Monday, January 1, for New Year's Day. However, city offices will remain open for business from December 26 to December 29.

In addition to the city offices, all Grand Rapids Public Library (GRPL) locations will be closed from Saturday, December 23, to Monday, December 25, and on Monday, January 1. Furthermore, GRPL's Madison Square, Ottawa Hills, Van Belkum, and West Side Branch locations will also be closed on Tuesday, December 26, and Saturday, December 30. For specific locations and hours, please visit www.grpl.org/locations.

Residents should be aware that refuse and recycling curbside collection will not take place on Christmas Day or New Year's Day. To accommodate the holidays, collections will be delayed by one day throughout the two holiday weeks.

The City's yard waste drop-off site at 2001 Butterworth St. SW will be closed on both holidays. However, residents can continue to utilize the site from Monday to Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., for yard waste drop-off throughout the winter.

It is important for residents to plan accordingly and adjust their schedules to accommodate the changes in office hours and refuse and recycling collection. City spokesperson, Jane Smith, emphasized the need for residents to be aware of the closures and delays, stating, "We want to ensure that residents have the necessary information to plan their activities during the holiday season."

For any further information or assistance, residents are encouraged to contact the City of Grand Rapids offices or visit their official website.

With the upcoming holiday season, it is essential for residents to be aware of the office closings and schedule adjustments to avoid any inconvenience.
