National Pet Fire Safety Da

If you're like many of us, your pets are part of your family. Help keep them safe and prevent tragedies on this National Pet Fire Safety Day with a few tips from American Kennel Club:

Don't leave curious pets near open flames. If possible, opt for flameless candles.

When leaving pets home alone, keep them in areas or rooms near entrances where firefighters can easily find them.

Keep collars and leashes in sight in case you have to evacuate quickly with your pet or firefighters need to rescue your pet.

Use monitored smoke detectors that are connected to a monitoring center, providing an added layer of protection beyond battery-operated smoke alarms.
