City of Grand Rapids issued the following announcement on Dec 11.
The hours of the City’s yard waste drop-off site, 2001 Butterworth St. SW, are being extended throughout this winter. Beginning Monday, the site will be remain open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the winter months for yard waste drop-off. The site typically opens in early April and closes after the second Saturday in December.
The extended opening is particularly helpful as residents clean-up leaves, brush and tree branches that have fallen from today’s wind storm. The site is open to Grand Rapids residents only. Residents must bring proof of residence when visiting the site.
As a reminder, yard waste must be loose or in a paper bag. Plastic bags are not allowed.
Residents with questions about the site and whether their yard waste will be accepted at the site can call 311 or dial 616-456-3000. For more information visit the City’s yard waste website HERE.
