Algoma Township recently issued the following announcement.
Public comments are being sought on the proposed drafts of all eight 2022 Generally Accepted Agricultural and Management Practices (GAAMPs): Manure Management and Utilization; Care of Farm Animals; Site Selection and Odor Control for New and Expanding Livestock Facilities; Farm Markets; Pesticide Utilization and Pest Control; Nutrient Utilization; Cranberry Production; and Irrigation Water Use.
Submit comments by Aug. 27 to: MDARD-RTF@Michigan.gov; Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Environmental Stewardship Division, P.O. Box 30017, Lansing, MI 48909 (postmarked no later than Aug. 23); or during the public input meeting at 9 a.m. on Aug. 25.
