City of Grand Rapids issued the following announcement on Aug. 14.
Have ideas for our state's energy future? Our friends at Consumers Energy are hosting a series of virtual open houses to gather suggestions for its Clean Energy Plan, which eliminates coal and achieves net zero carbon emissions by 2040.
The 45-minute open houses will cover such topics as wind and solar power, protecting our environment, building a smarter power grid and what you can do to help. The schedule is:
• 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18 – Clean Energy Plan
• 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 – Road to renewable energy
• 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13 – Protecting our planet
• 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 – A smarter energy future
