City of East Grand Rapids issued the following announcement on Feb. 18.
Please note that the Kent County Recycling Center and Recycling Drop-Off stations will be temporarily closed between February 24 and March 13.
The Recycling & Education Center is scheduling upgrades to improve its efficiency and quality by replacing the mechanical screens used to sort paper. While the new equipment is being installed, the facility will be closed and unable to accept recycling materials for processing — this includes curbside pickup.
