City of Grand Rapids issued the following announcement on Feb. 3.
The City of Grand Rapids 911 Dispatch Center has been affected by a statewide problem that has impacted 911 service for 40 counties across Michigan. The City is working to resolve the issue. The system vendor has advised the City that service has been restored to the Grand Rapids Dispatch Center. However, intermittent outages may be possible.
Residents should continue to call 911 first. If callers are not able to get through, they should call 616.456.3444 – where dispatchers are ready to take calls and dispatch emergency services.
Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.
All other City numbers can be used as normal.
