CITY OF GRAND RAPIDS: Neighborhood Open House and Commission Night Out set for Sept. 24

City of Grand Rapids issued the following announcement on Sept. 20.

The City of Grand Rapids will host a City Hall in the Neighborhood Open House at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, followed by a City Commission Night Out meeting at 7 p.m. Both events will take place in the auditorium at Alger Middle School, 921 Alger St. SE. Free parking will be available in the parking lot off Marshall Avenue SE. Bike parking is available in front of Alger Middle School. The school is also served by The Rapid’s Route 4 (Eastern line).

This is the second Commission Night Out of 2019 as part of the annual series in which the City Commission holds its night meeting in each of the city’s three wards.

The 6 p.m. open house event will give community members a chance to learn more about City services, job opportunities at the City, citizen engagement opportunities and much more. Representatives from various City departments and offices will be on hand to answer questions. Many offices will offer giveaways, snacks, children’s activities, raffle prizes and more. City of Grand Rapids recycling customers are encouraged to visit the 311 Customer Service/Diversity and Inclusion table to receive points or set up their account.
