Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of messages addressing health care, environmental protection, and international remembrance.

On October 6, 2025, Scholten called attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month and encouraged her constituents to prioritize their health screenings. She wrote, "West Michigan, it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you and your health care provider have decided you are ready for yearly mammograms, I wanted to ask: Have you scheduled your annual mammography? If not, today’s a great day to! Annual screening mammography in average-risk https://t.co/WMXqFcttju".

Later that day on October 7, 2025, Scholten highlighted concerns regarding the ongoing government shutdown's impact on environmental oversight. In her post she stated, "The @EPA is absolutely essential in its work to protect and preserve our precious natural environment. However, the government shutdown has forced them to operate at a bare-bones level, and it’s going to be devastating for our environment. More below https://t.co/ObDRhSSsnA".

On the same day, Scholten marked the anniversary of the Hamas attacks on Israel by honoring victims and hostages affected by the violence. She wrote on October 7th: "Today, we remember the horrors of the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7th. We remember the lives that were lost, we remember the communities that were changed forever by that violence and bloodshed, and we remember the hostages who remain in captivity. We remember".

Hillary Scholten began serving as a U.S. Congresswoman for Michigan's 3rd District in 2023 after succeeding Peter Meijer. Born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and currently residing there at age 41, Scholten holds degrees from Gordon College (BA) and from University of Maryland, Baltimore (JD).
