Ferris State University's men's basketball player, Cole Vickers, has been honored with the Elite 90 award for the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship. The announcement was made on Sunday evening.

Vickers, a redshirt freshman from Canton and a business administration major, received the award at the Division II Elite Eight Banquet held in Evansville, Indiana. The Elite 90 is an accolade established by the NCAA to recognize student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically at the national championship level.

The award is presented to those with the highest cumulative grade-point average among participants at each of the NCAA's championships finals sites. To be eligible, student-athletes must be sophomores or higher academically and have participated in their sport for at least two years at their institution. In cases of ties, the number of completed credits determines the winner.

Ferris State Bulldogs are set to face Minnesota State in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight on Tuesday, March 26. The game will take place at 7 p.m. Eastern Time at the Ford Center in Evansville.
