Ferris State University's men's golf team secured its 22nd Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship by defeating Grand Valley State in Augusta, Michigan. The victory came after the Bulldogs, seeded third following the stroke play portion of the championship, advanced to the medal match round and overcame Wayne State with a 3-2 score on Saturday.

In the final against top-seeded Grand Valley State, Ferris State emerged victorious with a 3-0-2 scoreline. McCoy Biagioli won his match by four strokes, while Zach Koerner triumphed by seven strokes. Nathan Kraynyk and Sam Havey both tied their matches before Caleb Bond secured a three-stroke win for Ferris State. The team did not lose any of its five matches against the Lakers.

This year marks Ferris State's fifth consecutive appearance in at least the semifinal round of the league championships and their third title under the current format since 2019. They previously won in 2021 after no tournament was held in 2020 and reached the finals in 2022 before falling in last year's semifinals.

The GLIAC Championships followed a format established four years ago, with each school competing in 36 holes of stroke play before advancing to head-to-head medal match play for semifinals and finals. This format mirrors that used at NCAA Championships.

The event took place at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort near Battle Creek on Stoatin Brae Golf Club's par-71 course, measuring 6,742 yards. The resort is known for being one of the largest golf resorts globally with six championship courses.

Ferris State was ranked fifth entering the conference championships according to NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings. The team now awaits official NCAA selection announcements expected later this month.
