Ferris State University's women's volleyball team embarked on a spring trip to Spain and Portugal, beginning their journey on May 5. The Bulldogs, who have reached the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen for the past three years, are participating in a 10-day trip combining international game experience with cultural exploration.

The team arrived in Madrid and practiced with IE University's women's club team before playing their first international game, achieving a 3-1 record. They subsequently defeated the Torrejon Juniors in Spain. Senior middle hitter Chelsie Freeman remarked, "The Torrejon Juniors were a great team and it was such a great opportunity to learn new things and have fun playing the game we love."

Freeman also shared her experience exchanging shirts with the Torrejon Juniors, saying, "One of my favorite moments was after the match when we got to exchange shirts with the Torrejon Juniors and learned more about their lifestyle." She appreciated learning about their volleyball community.

Aside from matches, the Bulldogs visited notable sites such as the Royal Palace, a cathedral, and La Plaza Mayor in Madrid. The team captured photos at these locations while exploring together.

On Wednesday morning, they traveled to Soria to face the Spanish Junior National Team, securing a 4-1 victory. Another match against this national team is scheduled for tomorrow.

Fans can keep up with Ferris State's journey through various social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter), as well as updates on FerrisStateBulldogs.com.
