CITY OF EAST GRAND RAPIDS: Justice For Black Lives Path for Peace Walk Will Come Through East Grand Rapids

City of East Grand Rapids issued the following announcement on July 10.

From Chief Mark Herald: On Saturday, July 11, a Justice for Black Lives Path for Peace Walk will come through East Grand Rapids. The walk will begin at 12 p.m. at Plymouth Heights Christian Reformed Church and will loop through East Grand Rapids. Participants will stop at Martin Luther King Park and Grace Episcopal Church for water breaks and end the walk back at Plymouth Heights Christian Reformed Church.

Public Safety has been working with the event organizers to ensure a successful walk. We will have two patrol cars assigned to the event to assist with traffic if/where needed and keep everyone safe during the forecasted warm temperatures. We support the First Amendment rights of those walking. EGR Public Safety is committed to keeping all those involved and the entire community safe.
