For Lynn Afendoulis (R-Grand Rapids Township), the task at hand is simple: Bring a conservative voice back to western Michigan.

Afendoulis is seeking election to U.S. Congress as the 3rd District representative. With less than two months left until a primary election face-off against U.S. Rep. Justin Amash (I-Cascade Charter Township), Afendoulis is asking for a contribution from supporters of $5 to her campaign. Amash had been exploring an independent run for president but has since withdrawn his name from consideration.

Afendoulis is in total agreement with efforts to secure the safety of the nation by protecting its borders.

On a Facebook post, she stated, “I believe both in ensuring that our border is secure and in ensuring we put out the welcome mat to legal immigrants. But tough times call for tough measures, [like Washington's recent] decision to halt immigration into the U.S. for 60 days. The drastic measures we've taken affect so many in and outside of this country, but we must make sure to do whatever we can to stop the spread of COVID-19. During these times, this is the safest decision for our nation.”
