The Ferris State University men's golf team improved its standing by two places to finish sixth at the Doc Spragg Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday, October 14. The tournament was hosted by the University of Findlay at the Findlay Country Club in Ohio.
Ferris State recorded a final-round team score of 293, bringing their total for the 54-hole event to 875. The team had earlier rounds of 290 and 292, ending the tournament at +11 overall.
Kole Putnam led Ferris State individually, tying for 10th place with a three-round total of 215. He posted a score of 73 in the final round after shooting consecutive rounds of 71 on Monday.
Ben Miller finished tied for 24th with a total score of 219. Miller shot a 75 in his last round following two rounds of 72 on day one.
Sam Havey tied for 39th place with a consistent performance, carding a score of 74 in each round for an overall total of 222.
Ethan Frost ended up tied for 43rd at 223 after scoring a final-round 72. His earlier rounds were scores of 76 and then 75.
Ray Dress completed the lineup, tying for 61st place with an overall score of 226. Dress shot a final-round score of 74 after posting scores of 73 and then a second-round score of 79.
The Bulldogs are scheduled to finish their fall season at the Citrus Intercollegiate in Championsgate, Florida on October 27-28.
